2008 Engineering Technology (formally known as CAD and Mouse) will focus on the engineering design process in each of the four major disciplines of engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, electronic, and civil engineering. Camp week is limited to 14 seats. **
Monday – Manufacturing and Civil Engineering: Indentifying the problem, finding solutions, and testing are the basic cornerstones of engineering design. The students will be introduced to building bridges and manufacturing process
Tuesday – Electrical and Mechanical Engineering: Solar cars, gears and physics will be center stage in combining several disciplines of engineering projects
Wednesday – Electrical and Industrial Engineering: Testing and analyzing “how things work” and the physics behind the cars will be integrated into the design process. The circuits behind the racing finish line will be built in the electronics lab. The student will also investigate robotic functions.
Thursday – Architectural and Civil engineering: Bridge building projects will highlight civil and architectural engineering. Make ‘em and Break ‘em bridges always is a fun project!
Friday – Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering: Bottle Rockets, trebuchets and more! Parents are invited to Friday’s “LUNCH and LEARN”. This is an opportunity for the parents to come to a free lunch and view the week’s activities.
It is a busy and exciting week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily, with Wake Tech Engineering Technology instructors. ATEC Engineering Technology Weeks
